Export and import your data
Simple Points and RewardsUpdated October 26, 2026
You can back up your plugin settings as a file and restore them later or on another site, export customer balances and the activity log as CSV files, and import customer points from a CSV file. Everything is on the Points & Rewards › Tools page.
Export your settings
Go to Points & Rewards › Tools and click Import or Export on the Import or Export Settings card. Under Export, click Export Settings.
You get a JSON file named with the date, containing every plugin setting along with the plugin version and the site it came from. Take one before any large change to your settings, so you can go back if needed.
Import a settings file
On the same page, under Import, choose a file and click Import Settings. You are asked to confirm first, because imported values overwrite your current ones.
- Imported values go through the same checks as a normal settings save.
- Any setting the file does not contain keeps its current value. An older export made before a feature existed does not reset that feature’s settings.
- The file must come from this plugin and be 2 MB or smaller.
Settings that point to site content, such as the rewards page, products chosen for rewards or template coupons, expect that content to exist on the site you import into. When you move settings to another site, check and reselect them.
The REST API, webhook and AI settings are not included in the file.
Export customer balances
Click Download CSV on the Export Customer Points card on the Tools page, or use Export CSV on the Customer Points page. The file lists each customer’s current balance and lifetime earned points, and can be imported again with the CSV import.
Export the activity log
Click Download CSV on the Export Points Activity Log card to download the whole log. To export part of it, go to Points & Rewards › Points Activity Log, filter by date range, customer, action, points or type, and click Export CSV there.
Import customer points
To bring balances from another site or loyalty platform, use Import Points from CSV on the Tools page. See Import points from a CSV file.
What the settings file does not include
The settings file covers configuration only. Customer balances, the activity log and reward vouchers are not included, so importing settings onto another site does not move any customer’s points.
