About RelyWP

RelyWP is a WordPress development company founded by Elliot Sowersby, a developer based in the Yorkshire seaside town of Bridlington, UK.

Originally starting as a WordPress website development and hosting company, RelyWP’s primary focus has now moved to developing high-quality WordPress plugins, which have reached over 145,000+ active installs combined.

Our History

In 2009, Elliot was introduced to WordPress, and taught himself how to code HTML and PHP, to build a custom tournament management system to run his own competitive gaming tournaments for thousands of gamers across Europe.

After studying ICT at College in 2012, then graduating with BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Hull University in 2016, he then spent several years developing sites for many brands worldwide, such as The Fragrance Shop, Bluesound and Contently.

RelyWP was officially launched in 2019 by Elliot, moving his freelance work as a sole-trader into a company.

While initially focused on client services, in 2022 the company began focussing on plugin development following the success of projects like the Coupon Affiliates plugin, and Elliot’s free plugin project, Simple Cloudflare Turnstile which has reached over 100,000 active installs.

RelyWP Today

Since 2025, plugin development has become almost 100% of RelyWP’s focus, and the company has phased out new client services completely.

As for the future, RelyWP aims to simply continue developing and improving its existing suite of plugins, whilst offering high-quality support.

We are open to creating new, useful plugins over the next few years if we see a good opportunity.
