Migrating from Another Plugin

Updated September 11, 2026

If you are switching from another loyalty or points plugin, Simple Points & Rewards includes a built-in migration tool that imports your existing customer point balances and related data. The tool is available in the Points & Rewards admin area.

Supported Source Plugins

The migration tool can import from the following plugins:

  • Points and Rewards for WooCommerce by WP Swings
  • WooCommerce Points and Rewards (the official Woo extension)
  • WPLoyalty
  • MyRewards by Long Watch Studio
  • YITH WooCommerce Points and Rewards

What Gets Migrated

Depending on the source plugin, the migration tool can import:

  • Current points balance
  • Total points earned (lifetime)
  • Birthday (where stored)
  • Referral code
  • Account status (active / banned)

How to Run a Migration

  1. Make sure the source plugin is still installed and active (the tool reads data directly from its tables/meta).
  2. Go to the migration tool in the Points & Rewards admin area.
  3. Select the source plugin you are migrating from.
  4. Start the migration. The tool processes customers in batches and logs its progress.
  5. Review the migration log for any skipped customers and the reasons given.

Important Notes

  • Back up your database before running any migration.
  • Migrated point awards do not trigger the “points earned” email – customers won’t be spammed during the import.
  • Run the migration on a staging site first if possible to verify the imported balances are correct.
  • After confirming the migration succeeded, you can deactivate the old plugin.
  • Migration is generally a one-time operation – running it again may re-apply or skip already-imported balances depending on the source.
