Simple Store Credit integration

When the free Simple Store Credit plugin (or its Pro version) is active, customers can redeem their points for store credit, and the two programs are kept from paying out twice on the same order. Configure it under Points & Rewards › Settings › Simple Store Credit. Every switch on the tab is on by default. The store credit referral bonus is off until you set an amount.

Without the plugin, the tab describes what the integration does and links to the plugin. If it is installed but not active, the tab shows a Go to Plugins button.

Redeem points for store credit

Customers can turn points into store credit in two ways:

• A Store Credit reward type on the Rewards tab, for a fixed amount of credit at a fixed points cost.
• A Convert points tool on the rewards dashboard, where the customer chooses how many points to convert.

Stop points and credit doubling up

Under Earning:

• Store credit spent on an order does not earn points: credit used through the redemption tool, credit vouchers and orders paid in full with the Store Credit payment method are taken out of the amount points are worked out on. The cart and checkout “you will earn” message follows the same rule.
• Buying store credit does not earn points: store credit top-ups and gift card products earn no points, and their “earn X points” message is hidden.

Under Cashback (Shop & Earn):

• Points discounts do not earn cashback and Reward vouchers do not earn cashback.
• When an order could earn both points and cashback: Earn both (default), No cashback on orders where points were redeemed, or No points on orders while cashback is switched on.
• Levels can multiply cashback: adds a cashback multiplier to each level on the Levels & Badges tab, so higher levels earn more cashback. It is listed as a level benefit on the dashboard.

Show store credit next to points

Under Display, each of these can be switched off:

• A store credit tab inside the checkout rewards box, so customers apply credit, vouchers and points in one place. It is shown to logged-in customers on the cart and checkout pages, and you can set its Tab label.
• The available store credit balance in the rewards box header.
• A store credit balance card on the rewards dashboard, with a Card label.
• The store credit balance in the floating rewards widget (Pro).
• “Redeem points” listed as a way to get credit on the store credit account page.

Give store credit as a bonus

• Referral bonus in store credit: an amount of credit for the referrer on each successful referral. It is 0 (off) by default. Choose whether it is given in addition to the referral points or instead of them. If the referred order is refunded, cancelled or fails, the credit is taken back with the referral points.
• Prize Wheel (Pro): a Store Credit prize type is available under Ways to Earn › Prize Wheel. The prize value is the credit amount.
• Deliver bonuses as: account balance or credit voucher, for both of these.

Emails and admin screens

• A “store credit claimed” email is sent when points are redeemed or converted for credit, with its own Subject and Body. While it is on, Simple Store Credit’s own emails are not sent for these redemptions.
• Every points email can use the {store_credit_balance} placeholder.
• The store credit balance is shown on the admin customer page, and store credit used is shown on the order edit screen.
• In Pro, conditional rules gain a Customer: Store Credit Balance condition.
