Repair lifetime points
Simple Points and RewardsUpdated October 27, 2026
The Repair Lifetime Points tool checks each customer’s lifetime “Total Earned” points against the points activity log and repairs totals that are wrong. Levels are based on this total, so a wrong total can put a customer on the wrong level. Go to Points & Rewards › Tools and click Check Totals on the Repair Lifetime Points card.
Only the lifetime total changes. Customers’ available balances are not touched.

When to use it
Before version 3.0.0, lifetime totals could be wrong in a few cases. For example, a customer’s first points could be counted twice when levels were based on the available balance. Run this tool once after updating to correct existing customers. It is also useful after testing on a live store.
Choose which totals to repair
- Only totals where the first earning was counted twice (recommended): fixes the most common error and leaves every other total alone.
- Every total that differs from the activity log: replaces every total that does not match the log.
Lifetime totals set by hand on a customer’s profile, imported from another plugin or a CSV file, or carried over from guest points are not in the activity log. Only choose the second option if you want those replaced with the activity log total.
Preview, then repair
- Click Preview. You see how many customers were checked, how many totals are correct, how many will be repaired and the total change in lifetime points. The first totals to repair are listed, with the stored total and the activity log total side by side.
- Download the full report as a CSV file if you want to check every customer.
- Click Repair Totals and confirm.
The results show how many totals were repaired and how many customers changed level. Level-up emails and level rewards are not sent for repaired totals.
Undo a repair
The Undo the last repair box shows when the last repair ran and how many customers it changed. Click Undo Last Repair to put back the difference for each of those customers. Points they have earned since the repair are kept. Only the most recent repair can be undone.
