Rename your points and add a points icon

Updated September 11, 2026

You can call your points whatever suits your store, and optionally show a symbol or icon beside every amount. These options are under Points & Rewards › Settings › Points Label.

Set your labels

  • Rewards Label — the word used for the rewards area itself, for example “Rewards” or “Perks”.
  • Points Label — the plural name for your currency. Stars, Coins and Credits are all common choices.
  • Singular Points Label — the singular form, so a balance of one reads “1 Star” rather than “1 Stars”.

These labels are used everywhere points are named: the rewards dashboard, the floating widget, product pages, the cart and checkout, and customer emails.

Add a prefix to points values

Points Value Prefix puts a symbol in front of every amount, so entering $ makes 100 points display as $100. It is useful when your points are meant to read like a store credit balance rather than an abstract score.

Show a points icon

Points Icon displays a small image next to points values. Choose None, pick one of the bundled presets, or choose Custom and upload your own image from the media library.

Once an icon is selected, a Show icon on dropdown appears with two choices:

  • Prominent amounts — balances and product and cart totals only. The default, and the tidier option.
  • Every points value shown to customers — including history rows and smaller figures.

The dropdown stays hidden until an icon is chosen, since it has nothing to control otherwise.

Labels and translations

The labels you set here pass through WordPress’s translation system, so they can also be translated with Loco Translate or your own language files rather than being fixed to one language.
