Migrate balances from another wallet plugin

Simple Store CreditUpdated September 21, 2026

If your store already runs a wallet, store credit or gift card plugin, the migration tool moves that value into store credit. It appears as Migration in the Store Credit menu, and the plugin list only shows sources that are currently active on the site.

Supported plugins

  • TeraWallet (Wallet for WooCommerce) – balances and transaction history.
  • WooCommerce Account Funds – balances, from both 3.x and 4.x.
  • Wallet System for WooCommerce (WP Swings) – balances and transaction history.
  • Advanced Coupons – Store Credits – balances and transaction history.
  • WooCommerce Smart Coupons – Store Credit – coupons as vouchers, or their value as balance.
  • WebToffee Smart Coupons / Gift Cards – Store Credit – coupons as vouchers, or their value as balance.
  • WooCommerce Store Credit – coupons as vouchers, or their value as balance.
  • WooCommerce Gift Cards – cards as vouchers or balance, plus activity history.
  • YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards – cards as vouchers, or their value as balance.
  • PW WooCommerce Gift Cards – cards as vouchers or balance, plus activity history.

Picking a plugin shows a panel explaining what will be migrated, how the data is read and mapped, and any caveats specific to that source.

Before you start

Take a full site backup. The migration writes to customer accounts and cannot be automatically undone. Leave the old plugin installed and active until you have checked the results – once it is removed, its data may be gone for good.

Step 1: choose the plugin to migrate from

Select the source and the tool scans it, reporting how many customers hold a balance and what it is worth in total, or how many coupons and gift cards still have value left. Anything it cannot match to a customer account is counted separately and will be skipped, so a large unassigned figure is worth investigating before you run anything.

Step 2: choose what to migrate

The options shown depend on what the source holds.

  • Account balance – copies each customer’s current balance into their store credit account.
  • Remaining value – for coupon and gift card sources, either Import as vouchers (recommended), which creates a store credit voucher per code assigned to the customer with the same remaining value and expiry date, or Add the remaining value to the account balance, which totals it up and drops the individual codes and expiry dates. Importing as vouchers needs the voucher system enabled in your settings.
  • Transaction history – adds past transactions to the activity log for reference. It never changes a balance, and entries already imported are skipped.

Under If a customer already has store credit, Replace it with the migrated amount suits a clean switch-over and leaves balances exactly matching the source. Add the migrated amount on top suits a store already using store credit; each customer is only ever added once, so re-running is safe.

Original coupons and gift cards are never edited or removed. A voucher reuses the original code when it is free; when the code is still in use – always the case when the source is itself a WooCommerce coupon – the voucher gets a new code and the original is noted on it.

Step 3: run the migration

Click Start migration and keep the tab open. Customers are processed in small batches so large stores migrate safely, with a progress bar and a Stop button if you need to halt. Stopping partway is not destructive: running it again skips or leaves unchanged anyone already migrated.

Read the results

Counters summarise customers updated, vouchers created, history entries, credit migrated, and anything skipped or errored. Below them, a row per customer records the result, what happened, the change and the new balance, filterable by Updated, Unchanged, Skipped or Errors. Download results (CSV) saves the lot for your records.

Before you deactivate the old plugin

  1. Open a few customers in both the old plugin and Store Credit › Customers and confirm the balances match.
  2. If you imported vouchers, check a couple of codes under Store Credit › Vouchers and try one in a test cart.
  3. If you imported history, open a customer’s activity log and confirm the entries and dates look right.
  4. Review any skipped or error rows and keep the CSV.
  5. Only then deactivate the old plugin. Until you do, the same credit can be spent in both systems, so do this promptly once you are satisfied.
