Migrate balances from another wallet plugin

Updated September 14, 2026

If your store already runs a wallet plugin, the migration tool imports those balances into store credit. It appears as Migration in the Store Credit menu, and only when a supported source plugin is active on the site.

Supported sources

Wallet for WooCommerce (TeraWallet) is supported out of the box. Other plugins can be added by a developer through the migration filters.

Before you start

Take a full database backup. The import writes directly to customer balances and there is no undo.

Run the import

  1. Pick the Source plugin.
  2. Choose a Migration type:
Override current credit with the source balance replaces whatever the customer holds now. Use it for a clean cutover.
Add the source balance to current credit adds on top. Use it when store credit is already in use.
  3. Tick what to bring across – Current balance, Transaction history, or both.
  4. Click Start migration and leave the page open. Progress is written to the migration log below the form.

Imported history is reference only: it is written into the activity log so the customer’s past is visible, but it does not change any balance. The balance comes solely from the current balance option.

Running it twice

Override mode is safe to repeat – it sets the balance to the source figure each time. Add mode is not naturally repeatable, so each customer is marked once per source plugin and skipped on any later run. That protects you from a dropped connection mid-import quietly doubling everyone’s balance. The log states plainly when a customer was skipped for this reason.

Afterwards

Spot-check a few customers against the old plugin before deactivating it, and check the Imported Balances figure on the reports page against what you expected. Leaving both plugins active longer than necessary risks customers holding two separate balances.
