Let customers buy store credit

Top-ups let a customer buy store credit and have it loaded straight onto their account. Enable it with Allow customers to purchase store credit under Store Credit › Settings › Credit Topup.
Set the amounts customers can buy
- Product name – what the purchase is called in the cart, at checkout and on the order.
- Minimum top-up amount – the smallest purchase allowed in one go.
- Maximum top-up amount – the largest. Set it to 0 for no ceiling.
The purchase is carried by a hidden WooCommerce product that the plugin creates and keeps in sync with the product name. You do not need to create or manage it yourself, and it is not meant to be browsed in the catalog – if you want a gift card customers can find in the shop, use a store credit product instead.
Where the buy-credit form appears
- On the Buy Credit tab of the customer’s store credit dashboard, when that tab is enabled.
- Anywhere you place the
[sscp_credit_topup]shortcode.
Choosing how the credit arrives
With both credit systems enabled, the form offers the customer a choice between Add to my account balance and Receive as a credit voucher. The option pre-selected follows Award new credit as at the top of the same tab. With only one system enabled the choice is hidden and everything is delivered that way.
If you would rather sell vouchers at set denominations than let customers type any figure, switch Voucher amounts to Offer fixed voucher amounts on the Vouchers tab and add the values you want to offer.
When the credit is granted
Credit is added once the order is paid, not when it is placed. If a top-up order is later refunded or cancelled, the plugin takes the credit back. Where the customer has already spent some of it, the shortfall is held as a debt against the account and recovered from the next credit they receive, and a note is left on the order so you can see what happened.
Two safeguards are worth knowing about: store credit can never be used to pay for store credit, so the payment method and redemption tool step aside on an order that contains a top-up; and if a coupon reduces the price actually paid, the credit granted is scaled down to match.
