The Social Share module rewards customers with points for sharing your store or products on social media platforms. This turns your loyalty programme into a word-of-mouth marketing tool.
Enabling Social Share #
Go to Points & Rewards → Settings → Earn → Social Share and enable the toggle. Configure the platforms and points values for each.
Supported Platforms #
The social share module supports major platforms including Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Each platform can have its own points value.
How Shares Are Tracked #
When a customer clicks a share button in their Rewards dashboard, the plugin registers the share event and awards the configured points. Share tracking uses a combination of the share button click and platform callbacks where available.
Anti-Abuse #
To prevent customers from clicking share buttons repeatedly for points, the module limits awards to a set number of shares per platform per time period (configurable). Shares to the same platform by the same customer beyond the limit will not earn additional points.
Order Bonuses (Pro) #
Alongside social sharing, the Pro plan also includes Order Bonuses – extra points awarded on special order milestones:
- Erstbesteller-Bonus – Extra points on a customer’s very first purchase.
- Nth Order Bonus – Extra points every time a customer reaches a specific order count (e.g. every 5th order).
Configure these under Points & Rewards → Settings → Earn in the Order Bonuses section.
