Simple Points & Rewards is fully translation-ready. Every interface string uses the text domain simple-points-and-rewards, and the plugin ships with ready-made translations for 12 locales plus a template file you can use to add your own language.
Bundled translations #
Translations are included out of the box for:
- English (UK) & English (US)
- German (de_DE)
- Spanish (es_ES)
- French (fr_FR)
- Italian (it_IT)
- Japanese (ja)
- Dutch (nl_NL)
- Polish (pl_PL)
- Portuguese – Brazil (pt_BR)
- Russian (ru_RU)
- Chinese – Simplified (zh_CN)
For each locale the plugin includes an editable .po file, a compiled .mo file, and a .l10n.php file (the fast PHP translation format WordPress 6.5+ loads automatically). The master template used to start a new translation is languages/simple-points-and-rewards.pot.
Translating with Loco Translate (recommended) #
Loco Translate is a free plugin that lets you translate directly inside the WordPress admin – no desktop software or file uploads required.
- Install and activate the Loco Translate Plugin.
- Go to Loco Translate → Plugins → Simple Points and Rewards.
- Click New language, choose your language, and set the location to System so the file is saved outside the plugin folder.
- Translate the strings and click Save. Loco generates the
.po,.mound.l10n.phpfiles for you.
Important: always save translations to the System location (wp-content/languages/plugins/), not inside the plugin folder. Files stored inside the plugin are overwritten every time the plugin updates.
Translating the “Points” label #
The points label you set under Points & Rewards → Settings (for example “Reward Points” or “Points”) is passed through gettext, so it appears in Loco Translate alongside the other strings and will display translated on the front end.
Translating with Poedit #
Prefer a desktop editor? Open the bundled template in Poedit and create a translation for your locale:
1. Open languages/simple-points-and-rewards.pot in Poedit.
2. Choose "Create new translation" and pick your language.
3. Translate the strings, then save as:
simple-points-and-rewards-{locale}.po (e.g. ...-fr_FR.po)
Poedit compiles the matching .mo automatically.
4. Place both files in wp-content/languages/plugins/ so they survive updates.
WPML & Polylang #
On multilingual sites, all standard interface strings are translatable through the plugin’s gettext strings. Dynamic values you enter in the settings (labels, custom messages, and similar) also resolve through gettext, so they can be translated with Loco Translate or your multilingual plugin’s string-translation feature.
Contributing a translation #
Improved an existing translation or added a new language? We’d love to include it. Send your translation files to RelyWP support and we may bundle them in a future release so other stores benefit too.
