Award points to customers who leave approved reviews on your WooCommerce products. Configure this under Points & Rewards → Settings → Earn → Product Reviews.
Configuration #
- Enabled – Toggle review earning on or off.
- Action Name – The label shown in the customer’s history (e.g. “Product Review”).
- Points per Review – How many points to award for each approved review.
- Verified Purchasers Only – When enabled, only customers who have purchased the reviewed product will receive the points reward. This prevents abuse from users leaving reviews on products they have never bought.
When Points Are Awarded #
Points are credited when a review is approved in WordPress (either automatically if your settings allow it, or manually by an admin). If a review is later unapproved or deleted, points are not automatically deducted – you would need to make a manual adjustment in the customer’s points record.
Preventing Abuse #
To prevent the same customer from leaving multiple reviews just for points, WordPress already limits one review per product per user when Verified purchasers only is active. You can also set a moderate review policy under WooCommerce → Settings → Products → Reviews.
