Target customers by last order or registration date (PRO)
Updated September 15, 2026
Two PRO sections in the Better Coupon Restrictions tab work on time: Time Since Last Order and Time Registered. All values are entered in hours, so use 24 for a day, 168 for a week and 720 for roughly 30 days.
Time Since Last Order
- Maximum Hours Since Last Order: valid only if the customer’s last order was placed within this many hours. Use it for “order again within 7 days” offers.
- Minimum Hours Since Last Order: valid only if at least this many hours have passed since the last order. Use it for win-back codes for lapsed customers.
The rule uses the most recent order WooCommerce has for the customer’s account. Customers with no orders, and guests, are rejected with “This coupon is only available to customers with previous orders.”
Time Registered
- Maximum Hours Since Customer Registered: valid only for accounts registered less than this many hours ago. Use it for welcome offers.
- Minimum Hours Since Customer Registered: valid only for accounts older than this. Use it to stop brand new accounts using a loyalty code.
Guests are rejected with “This coupon is only available to registered customers.”
Setting both fields
If you fill in both the maximum and the minimum in one section, a red warning appears on the coupon screen. Both can be set together to create a window (for example a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 168 hours), but if the minimum is larger than the maximum no customer can ever qualify.
Custom messages
Each section has its own Custom Error Message. {value} is replaced with the number of hours from the rule that failed.
