Report limited to the most recent 10,000 orders
Updated September 15, 2026
A report covers at most the 10,000 most recent orders that match its filters. When that limit is reached, a warning appears at the top of the report saying so, rather than presenting partial totals as if they were complete.
When you will see it
Almost never on a single customer’s report. In practice the notice appears on store-wide reports, where every order on the store matches, and on stores with a very large order history.
What to do
- Narrow the date range. Running a quarter or a month at a time keeps each report under the limit and gives exact figures.
- Narrow the order status. Filtering to completed orders removes cancelled, failed and pending orders from the count.
- Pick a specific customer rather than running store-wide.
Once the notice disappears, the report is covering every matching order and the totals are complete.
Why the limit exists
A report is built in a single admin request. Without a ceiling, a store-wide report on a large store would keep reading orders until the request ran out of time or memory, and you would get a blank screen or a timeout rather than a report. The limit means you always get a report, and you are always told when it was capped.
Changing the limit
Developers can raise or remove the limit with the acreports_max_report_orders filter. Setting it to 0 removes the cap entirely, which should only be done on a store where you know the request can complete.
add_filter( 'acreports_max_report_orders', function( $limit ) {
return 25000;
} );
The same limit applies to CSV exports and to the order activity screen.
