Export report data to CSV (Pro)
Updated September 15, 2026
With the Pro version, the Export All buttons on the Orders tab download the customer’s data as a CSV file you can open in a spreadsheet. In the free version the buttons are visible but disabled and labelled Export (PRO).
The two exports
The Customers Orders export downloads every matching order, one row per order, with these columns:
Order ID, Date, Time, Status, Subtotal, Total, Discount, Shipping, Tax,
Origin, Source Type, UTM Source, UTM Medium, UTM Campaign, Referrer, Device
The Recent Order Activity export downloads every order note across those orders, with these columns:
Order ID, Date, Note
What gets included
Both exports respect the report’s current date range and order status filter, and both cover the whole matching set rather than just the page you are looking at. They also work for guest customers, who are identified by their billing email rather than a username.
The file name includes the customer and the date range, for example orders_janesmith_2026-01-01_2026-03-31.csv. Guests are labelled by their email address with the @ replaced, so the file name stays valid.
Limits
An export covers at most the same 10,000 orders a report does. Orders are read in batches rather than all at once, so a long order history does not exhaust the request, but for a very large store-wide export it is still worth narrowing the date range.
Opening the file safely
Values that begin with a formula character such as = or + are prefixed with an apostrophe before being written. Order notes and billing names come from customers, and without that step a crafted value could execute as a formula when the file is opened in Excel or Google Sheets. The apostrophe is only visible in the formula bar and does not affect the data.
Permissions
Exporting requires the manage_options or manage_woocommerce capability, and each export is nonce-protected, so an export cannot be triggered by a link on another website. If an export returns a security error, reload the reports screen and try again, since the page has usually been open long enough for the nonce to expire.
