The Payments and Shipping tabs

Updated September 15, 2026

The Payments and Shipping tabs cover the practical side of a customer’s orders: how they pay, where their orders are delivered, and which shipping options they choose.

Payment methods used

The Payments tab lists every payment method the customer has used, with the number of orders placed through each and the value of those orders. Methods are shown by their gateway title where one is available.

Orders with no payment method recorded, which includes orders created manually in the admin, are grouped together under a blank method name.

Shipping addresses

The Shipping tab starts with every distinct address the customer has had orders delivered to, along with how many orders went to each, the value of those orders, and the date of the most recent one.

Addresses are grouped as a single line built from address line 1 and 2, city, county or state, postcode and country. An order with no shipping address, which is normal for a virtual or downloadable product, falls back to the billing address so the order is not lost from this table.

Several rows for what looks like the same address usually means the address was entered slightly differently between orders, since the grouping is on the exact text.

Shipping methods used

Underneath is a breakdown of the shipping methods chosen, with the number of orders and total value for each. The method name is the one shown to the customer at checkout, so renaming a shipping method in your settings will leave historical orders under the old name.

Both tabs respect the report’s date range and status filter, so you can use them to check whether a customer’s delivery address or preferred payment method has changed recently by running the report over a narrower window.
