PRO can start audio generation for you the moment you publish a post, so you don’t forget. Turn it on in AI Text-to-Speech › Settings › Automation › Auto-generate TTS for new posts. It runs in your browser from the block editor, using the Default Voice and Default Voice Style set on the same tab.

Turn on auto-generation

1. Go to AI Text-to-Speech › Settings and open the Automation tab.
2. Tick Auto-generate TTS for new posts.
3. Choose a Default Voice and Default Voice Style.
4. Click Save Changes.

What happens when you publish

1. You click Publish on a draft in the block editor.
2. When WordPress shows the “Post published” notice, the plugin clicks Generate TTS in the AI TTS box for you, with whatever voice and style are selected there.
3. The box shows “Generating audio file…”. Keep the editor tab open until the player appears. Closing or leaving the page too early can stop the generation.

Because it triggers from the publish action, you can still change the voice or style in the AI TTS box before clicking Publish and those choices are used.

When it doesn’t run

Auto-generation needs the editor page open in a browser, so it won’t create audio for:

• Scheduled posts that publish later on their own.
• Posts published through the classic editor, Quick Edit, bulk edit, the WordPress mobile app, the REST API, imports or other plugins.
• Updates to posts that are already published. Clicking Update doesn’t regenerate audio.
• Post types or users that don’t have the AI TTS box, because of your Limits and Permissions settings.

It looks for WordPress’s “Post published” notice, so it’s designed for the standard Posts type with an English admin language. Pages, custom post types and translated admin screens show different notice text and may not trigger it. For those, generate manually after publishing.

If you switch a published post back to draft and publish it again, a new audio file is generated, which costs another generation.
