Update 2.3.0 – Tax Exemption for WooCommerce – State/City Limits

Version 2.3.0 of the Tax Exemption for WooCommerce plugin is now available.

This update helps store owners manage exemptions with more precision with state/city restrictions.

Key New Features

Exemption State or City Limitation Field

A new option has been added to the advanced settings: “Exemption State/City’ Limitation Field”

Turn it on, and customers see an extra field on the tax exemption form. This appears at checkout and on the My Account page.

Customers enter their state or city there.

You can also choose enable an option so that exemption only applies only if the billing state on checkout matches the state saved on their user exemption details.

This step prevents misuse. It ensures exemptions serve the right users. For example, limit relief to specific regions or states.

Selected States Only Option

We also added another similar option: “Selected States Only”

You can enable this to restrict tax exemption to only be available for chosen states or cities, based on the billing/shipping address at checkout.

This keeps forms simple. It focuses on relevant customers. You pick states in the admin settings. As a result, non-eligible users don’t see the fields.
