Before you apply
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining is free and there are no targets. You can promote competing products too, as long as you do not misrepresent ours.
Do I need to be a RelyWP customer?
No, but it helps. We accept applications from anyone with a website, channel, newsletter, community or client base relevant to WordPress or WooCommerce. Existing customers, and agencies who install our plugins for clients, are welcome to apply.
What counts as a qualifying sale?
A first purchase by a new customer who reached us through your referral link or used your coupon code. You earn on the first payment of a yearly or lifetime plan, and on the first twelve months of a monthly plan.
Renewals beyond that, upgrades by existing customers and your own purchases do not qualify.
How are referrals tracked?
Through Freemius, which is the merchant of record for our plugin sales. Your link sets a cookie lasting 30 days, and attribution is last click, so the commission goes to whoever’s link the customer clicked most recently before buying. If you are issued a coupon code, the customer applies it at checkout and the sale is attributed to you that way.
When and how do I get paid?
Commission is held for 90 days from the sale to cover our refund window, then paid monthly by PayPal in US dollars once your balance reaches $100. Anything below the threshold rolls over to the next cycle.
What happens if a referred sale is refunded?
Commission is calculated on net revenue, so refunds and chargebacks come out of it. If a sale is refunded after commission has been paid, the amount is deducted from your future commission.
Can I run paid ads?
Not on our brand terms. Bidding on “RelyWP”, “Coupon Affiliates” or our plugin names in paid search or paid social needs our written approval, as does sending paid traffic straight to relywp.com through your affiliate link. Anything else is fine. The full detail is in the Affiliate Program Terms.
Do I have to disclose that I am an affiliate?
Yes. Disclose the relationship clearly wherever you promote us, as the FTC in the US, the ASA and CAP Code in the UK and equivalent rules elsewhere require.
How long does approval take?
Usually within two working days. We read every application ourselves and look at your promotion methods and your audience, so it helps to say a little about what you do.
