Update 1.7.0 – Simple Points and Rewards: Conditional Rules, Points Summary, and more!

Version 1.7.0 of Simple Points and Rewards is now available.

This update adds Conditional Rules for earning methods, a points summary in the checkout rewards box, and several fixes for customers and admins.

New: Conditional Rules for Earning Methods (PRO)

The biggest change in 1.7.0 is the introduction of Conditional Rules for earning methods.

Conditional Rules let you control when points are awarded and how many, for each of your earning methods.

Each rule can include multiple conditions and then apply actions like multipliers, fixed adjustments, or even hiding a way to earn.

Supported Conditions:

• Cart: Product (is in cart / is not in cart)
• Cart: Product Category (is in cart / is not in cart)
• Cart: Order Total (above / below a set amount)
• Cart: Coupon Applied (one or more coupon codes)
• Customer (specific user IDs)
• Customer: User Role
• Customer: Total Points (above / below a threshold)
• Customer: Available Points (above / below a threshold)

Actions you can apply when the rule matches:

• Multiplier (e.g. 2.0x for double points)
• Min / Max Points (guarantee a minimum or cap a maximum)
• Fixed Points Delta (add or subtract a set amount)
• Hide & Disable a Way to Earn (rule match hides the method and awards zero points)

Checkout Improvements

New: Points Summary in the Checkout Rewards Box

Customers can now see a quick points summary inside the checkout rewards box, showing what they’ve earned and how their points will apply before they redeem. You can enable this in the “Checkout Box” settings.

Tweak: Checkout Redemption Cap

Points redemption is now automatically capped to the maximum usable amount for the current cart total, preventing over-application and edge-case errors.

Fix: Stable Redemption Amounts

We’ve stabilised discount calculations so points redemption no longer fluctuates in some cases, when reapplying or editing cart totals.

Rewards Widget Improvements

The floating Rewards Widget has new icon options and a tidier layout:

• Several new icon options were added to the list.
• Added a “No Icon” option.
• Added a new “Custom (Text/Emoji)” option to enter your own text or emoji.
• Added a new “Custom (Image URL)” option to use your own image icon or logo.
• Styling improvement to the Ways to Earn section, with each one in its own box.

Faster Customer Points Table

The Customer Points admin table now loads faster on stores with a large number of users.

Bug Fixes

• Prevented settings from reverting when saving if the form payload is incomplete.
• Fixed the calculation of points awarded for orders if the order is partially refunded before being completed.
• Stabilised points redemption discounts on checkout to prevent erratic amounts when reapplying points.
• Prevented errors when applying vouchers from the checkout rewards “My Vouchers” list.
