That’s right, every change or update detected on your website will be backed up instantly in the cloud.
It may sound too good to be true, so we’ll explain how it works. We create ‘incremental backups’ of your website every time a change or update is detected, meaning only the files and database entries that have changed are backed up with each restore point, instead of backing up the whole site every time. This means that each backup takes minimal storage space. Then, if we need to restore your site to a specific point in history, the system cleverly combines the incremental backups up to that point. If needed, we can also just restore specific files and folders from a specific date and time.

VPS Hosting – Comprehensive Backups Solution
If your website is the core of your business, having just 1 backup process simply isn’t good enough. With our managed hosting services, your website will have a total of at-least 4 separate backups (in different data centers), created using 2 different backup systems, for your security and ability to recover from worst case scenario type situations. All backups can be restored easily, and have almost no affect on website performance.
Remote cloud backups are important for additional security, in-case a “disaster” scenario happens to your servers data center, and the local backups stored there. That’s why we keep multiple remote backups, in different data centers, for extra peace of mind. These are transmitted through an encrypted connection, and files are encrypted at rest.
The server host performs daily, weekly, and biweekly backups of your server. These are stored on a separate system in the same data center as your server. This is a total of 3 backups; the latest daily backup, the current weeks backup, and last weeks backup.
Backups of your website are run every hour on the hour 24/7. These are stored locally on your server, but because the backups are incremental, this time machine style backup is very efficient with space.
Retention: The local backups system stores an hourly backup for the past 12 hours, a daily backup for the past 7 days, a weekly backup for the past 4 weeks and a monthly backup for the past 3 months.
Although “local” backups are efficient on storage space usage, they may be disabled if your server doesn’t have enough storage space available.
We will run an hourly incremental backup of your website and store it on the cloud storage provider Wasabi in their EU data center. Backups are transmitted through an encrypted connection, and files are encrypted at rest.
Retention: These backups are kept for up to 360 days. We keep a backup every 30 days for backups older than 180 days, one backup every 7 days for backups older than 30 days, 1 backup per day for backups older than 7 days, and 7 days worth of hourly backups.
We will run an hourly incremental backup of your website and store it on the cloud storage provider Backblaze, in their EU data center. Backups are transmitted through an encrypted connection, and files are encrypted at rest.
Retention: These backups are kept for up to 360 days. We keep a backup every 30 days for backups older than 180 days, one backup every 7 days for backups older than 30 days, 1 backup per day for backups older than 7 days, and 7 days worth of hourly backups.
Additionally, with your WordPress care plan, you also get daily or real-time backups (depending on your plan), stored securely and encrypted on Amazon S3 cloud storage (EU). This offers extra peace of mind, knowing there is an alternative cloud backup stored at another trustworthy cloud storage provider. Real-time backups in the Enterprise care plan offer automatic incremental backups every time changes are detected on your site.
Retention: These backups are stored for up to 90 days.
