7 Best WooCommerce Points and Rewards Alternatives (2026)

WooCommerce Points and Rewards is the official loyalty extension sold on WooCommerce.com. Customers earn points for orders, account sign-ups and product reviews, and spend them as a discount at checkout. Stores usually look for an alternative when they want to reward referrals or offer rewards other than a discount. The $179 yearly price is the other common reason.

Which alternative suits you depends on what you need the official extension to do differently:

A note before you read on: we make Simple Points and Rewards, and it’s first on this list. Every plugin below has its downsides listed, ours included, and two of the others can also import your points. RelyWP has no connection to WooCommerce, Inc. or the team behind the official extension.

Why stores move away from WooCommerce Points and Rewards

The official WooCommerce Points and Rewards extension on the WooCommerce.com marketplace

The extension does its main task well. It’s developed by the WooCommerce team, it’s still maintained (version 1.18.25 came out on 24 September 2026), and it works with the Cart and Checkout blocks. You can set how many points an order earns for the whole store, a category or a single product, limit the discount points can give at each of those levels, and let customers choose how many points to use. Points can expire after a set time, and a tool gives points for orders placed before you installed it.

These are the limits that send store owners looking elsewhere:

  • No referral rewards. Points come from purchases, account sign-ups and product reviews. To reward customers who bring in friends, you need a second plugin.
  • Points only become a discount. Customers spend points at the cart or checkout. Free products and free shipping aren’t reward types, and there are no levels or badges.
  • Guests don’t earn points. Points need a customer account, so shoppers who check out as guests get nothing.
  • The price, with no free version. It’s $179 a year for one site, or $286.40 for a two-year plan. Exporting points to a CSV file needs a separate paid add-on from another developer.
  • Its rating. It averages 2.4/5 from 20 reviews on WooCommerce.com, and 40% of those reviews are one star. The newest reviews, from August 2025, say points stopped coming off customers’ balances after an update. The releases of the past year have been compatibility updates and bug fixes, with no new ways to earn or new reward types.

If the extension already does everything your program needs, staying with it is a reasonable choice. Earning rates by product and category are built in, and several alternatives keep those for their paid plans. The plugins below are for stores that need something it doesn’t offer.

How we compared these plugins

We build WooCommerce loyalty plugins ourselves, including the first plugin on this list. For each plugin we went through its live pricing page, its WordPress.org, WooCommerce.com or CodeCanyon listing and its documentation. We spent the most time on one question: can it bring over the points your customers already have in the official extension? If it can, the switch takes a few clicks. If it can’t, you have to build a CSV file of balances first. For our own plugin we also read the importer’s code. Everything was checked on 29 October 2026.

“CSV import only” needs a CSV file of your current balances, and the official extension can’t produce one without its paid Exporter add-on. More on that in moving your points below.

1. Simple Points and Rewards for WooCommerce

Simple Points and Rewards for WooCommerce page on the RelyWP website, showing version 3.1.0, a 5/5 rating and 475+ active installs

This is our plugin, so keep that in mind as you read this section. Simple Points and Rewards covers the parts of the official extension most stores use: points for orders and sign-ups, a points discount at checkout, and a tool that gives points for past orders. The free version adds a referral system, where customers share a link and earn points when friends buy. Customers see their balance and history in a Rewards tab under My Account, and can claim a voucher, a free product or free shipping as well as a discount.

If you’re leaving the official extension, the importer is included in the free version. While WooCommerce Points and Rewards is still active, a Migration page appears under Points & Rewards. For each customer it copies the current balance, their lifetime points (added up from the extension’s points table) and a birthday if your store already saves one. You choose whether it replaces or adds to any balances already in our plugin. The extension’s points log isn’t copied, so customers start with a new history. Our migration guide covers each step.

A few things the official extension includes need PRO here: points for reviews, points expiry, earning rules for particular products or categories, and limits on how many points a customer can spend on one order. Guest points tracking is PRO as well. The plugin is also new. It was first released in late 2025 and has 475+ active installs and seven reviews so far.

Best for: stores that want referrals and a free version, and want to bring customers’ balances over in one step.

Pros:

  • Referral system and free product rewards in the free version
  • Free importer for the official extension’s points

Cons:

  • Review points, points expiry and product-level earning rules need PRO
  • A short track record, with seven reviews

Price: free on WordPress.org. PRO costs $11.99 a month, $99.99 a year or $349.99 for a lifetime license on one site. At the time of writing the first payment is 25% off, and there’s a 7-day free trial and a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Download the free version from WordPress.org or start a PRO trial at relywp.com.

2. Loyalty Program for WooCommerce (Advanced Coupons)

Loyalty Program for WooCommerce page on the Advanced Coupons website

Advanced Coupons’ Loyalty Program has its own importer, and WooCommerce Points and Rewards is one of the three plugins it supports, together with YITH and SUMO Reward Points. It’s under Coupons › Loyalty Program › Settings › Advanced Tools, according to its knowledge base.

It has many more ways to earn than the official extension. Customers get points for purchases, reviews, registering, comments, a first order and spending over a set amount, and for referring friends through their own referral link. You can also give extra points during a promotion. Points are spent as store credit that stays on the customer’s account, and you can offer product and coupon rewards too.

There’s no free version. The prices on the pricing page are introductory and renewals are charged at full price, so the yearly cost doubles after the first year. Customer levels and badges aren’t on its feature list.

Best for: stores that want points to become store credit and want their current balances imported.

Pros:

  • Built-in importer for the official extension
  • Referral links and points spent as store credit

Cons:

  • Renews at $199 a year for one site, more than the official extension
  • No free version to try first

Price: $99.50 for the first year on one site (Growth) or $199.50 for unlimited sites (Business), renewing at $199 and $399 a year. The All Access bundle, with all Advanced Coupons plugins, is $249 for the first year and $498 a year after that. There’s a 14-day money-back guarantee.

3. WPLoyalty

WPLoyalty website, a points, rewards and referral plugin for WooCommerce by Flycart

WPLoyalty, made by Flycart, has more reviews than any other free plugin here: 5/5 from 309 on WordPress.org, with 3,000+ active installs. Earning is set up as campaigns, one for each action, and each campaign has its own conditions.

Flycart’s separate Migration add-on imports customers and their points from the official extension, and its documentation says it works with the free version of WPLoyalty. It moves 50 customers per batch by default. Flycart recommends stopping earning and redeeming in the old plugin before you start, and keeping it active until the migration has finished.

The free version is limited, though. It only gives points for purchases, and customers turn them into a coupon. Points for sign-ups, reviews, referrals and birthdays all need Pro, and so do free product and free shipping rewards. A store that only uses purchase points today could move for free, but adding referrals means buying Pro.

Best for: stores that want campaign-style earning rules from a well-reviewed plugin, with a supported way to bring points across.

Pros:

  • Importer for the official extension that runs on the free version
  • Over 300 reviews on WordPress.org

Cons:

  • The free version only rewards purchases
  • Referral points need Pro

Price: free on WordPress.org. Pro is $105 a year for one site, $155 for three or $295 for ten, and Flycart often runs sales (one-year plans were 30% off when we checked). There’s a 14-day money-back guarantee.

4. YITH WooCommerce Points and Rewards

YITH WooCommerce Points and Rewards product page on the YITH website

Choose YITH if the official extension feels too basic and you’re happy to keep paying every year. YITH says 32,983 customers use it, and it’s rated 4.24/5 from 120 reviews on YITH’s own site.

It does much more than the official extension. Customers can earn points through a referral link (for new sign-ups and for purchases), on their birthday, for reviews and for reaching spending targets, and you can set different rates by product, category, user role or level. Levels come with badges, and there’s a public ranking of your top customers. Points are redeemed as a fixed or percentage discount, a coupon code or free shipping.

Moving to YITH takes more work. It has no importer for the official extension, but it can import points from a CSV file, and the official extension can’t create that file without its paid Exporter add-on. There’s also no free version. UK visitors see a price of £139.99 a year.

Best for: stores that want levels, badges and detailed earning rules, and don’t mind a yearly fee.

Pros:

  • Referral, birthday and review points, plus levels and badges
  • Free shipping and coupon rewards as well as discounts

Cons:

  • No direct importer, so you need a CSV of your balances first
  • No free version

Price: £139.99 a year as shown to UK visitors, including a year of updates and support, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

5. Points and Rewards for WooCommerce (WP Swings)

Points and Rewards for WooCommerce Pro page on the WP Swings website

Despite the similar name, this is a separate plugin from WP Swings, not the official extension. It has the most active installs of the free plugins here, at 6,000+, and it’s rated 4.5/5 from 180 reviews on WordPress.org. The free version includes badges and levels, points for sign-ups, points when a referred friend signs up, and points redeemed at the cart.

Pro adds points when a referred friend buys something, points for reviews, points expiry and multi-level memberships. It also has customer rankings and products customers can buy with points alone.

There’s no importer for the official extension. The free version can import customers’ points from a CSV file, so you’d need to get your balances out of WooCommerce Points and Rewards first and match WP Swings’ file format. Test this on a staging site before you rely on it.

Best for: stores that want badges and levels without paying anything.

Pros:

  • Badges and levels in the free version
  • Products that can only be bought with points (Pro)

Cons:

  • Moving points over relies on a CSV file
  • Points for referred purchases and points expiry need Pro

Price: free on WordPress.org. Pro is $99 a year for one site, with 5-site, 10-site and two-year plans, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

6. SUMO Reward Points

SUMO Reward Points product page on the Fantastic Plugins website

SUMO Reward Points is sold on CodeCanyon for a one-time $49. Over two or three years that costs far less than the official extension at $179 a year. It has 7,056 sales and a rating of 4.61/5 from 338 reviews, and it was last updated on 16 August 2026.

Its feature list is long. Customers earn points for purchases, reviews, sign-ups, referrals and social sharing, and you can set earning rates for the store, a category or a product, as the official extension allows. It also has member levels, gift vouchers, and a payment gateway so customers can pay for an order with points.

There’s no importer for the official extension, but customers and their points can be imported and exported by CSV. A CodeCanyon license includes six months of support from the developer, and you pay again to extend it.

Best for: stores that would rather pay once than renew every year.

Pros:

  • A one-time price
  • Customers can pay for orders with points

Cons:

  • Support ends after six months unless you extend it
  • No direct importer for the official extension

Price: $49 one-time for a regular license, with future updates and six months of support included.

7. RewardsWP

RewardsWP website, a loyalty points and refer-a-friend plugin from the team behind AffiliateWP

RewardsWP comes from the team behind AffiliateWP, and referrals are part of its free version. Each customer gets a referral link to share, and they also earn points for purchases, signing up, a first order and product reviews. Points are spent on fixed discount coupons.

The paid plans add rewards for the friend who was referred, free shipping, free products, birthday rewards and VIP tiers. These are split across the Basic, Plus and Pro plans, so check which plan has the rewards you want. It also works with Easy Digital Downloads.

RewardsWP is new, with 100+ active installs and two reviews on WordPress.org. It has no importer for the official extension, although its changelog mentions a points CSV import.

Best for: stores that get more new customers from referrals than repeat orders from points.

Pros:

  • Referral links in the free version
  • Rewards for both people in a referral (paid plans)

Cons:

  • Two reviews so far
  • Reward types are spread across three paid plans

Price: free on WordPress.org. Paid plans are $159 a year for one site (Basic), $199 for two (Plus) and $319 for five (Pro). The first year is sold at a lower introductory price, renewals are at full price, and there’s a 14-day money-back guarantee.

How to move your customers’ points off WooCommerce Points and Rewards

The official extension keeps each customer’s balance in its own database table, and a new plugin won’t use those balances unless you import them. Follow these steps whichever plugin you choose:

  1. Take a backup and note the balances. The extension shows every customer’s balance on its Manage Points screen, but it can’t export them to a file without the separate Exporter add-on. A full database backup keeps the points table safe either way.
  2. Keep points worth the same. Note your earning and redemption conversion rates, for example 1 point per $1 spent and 100 points for $1 off, and use the same rates in the new plugin. If they differ, every customer’s balance is worth a different amount the moment you switch.
  3. Try the import on a staging copy. Import there first, then compare a handful of customers with their balances in the old plugin.
  4. Keep the official extension active during the import. Simple Points and Rewards and WPLoyalty both read its data while it’s running, and WPLoyalty’s documentation says not to deactivate the old plugin during migration. Do it at a quiet time, because points earned or spent while the import runs may not come across.
  5. Deactivate it, but don’t delete it straight away. If the extension’s Delete plugin data setting is switched on, deleting the plugin also removes every customer’s points and the points log. Check that setting, deactivate the extension, and keep it installed until you’re happy with the new balances.
  6. Let customers know. Send a short email saying where they can now see their points in My Account. It helps avoid support questions about missing points.

One part is easier than leaving some other plugins. The official extension applies points as a discount during checkout, rather than creating reward coupons ahead of time, so there’s no stock of unused reward coupons to deal with. If you’d like to use the switch to change your rates, our guide to creating a loyalty program in WooCommerce explains how to pick a reward rate your margins can cover.

FAQ

Is there a free version of WooCommerce Points and Rewards?

No. It’s only sold on WooCommerce.com, at $179 a year for one site or $286.40 for a two-year plan, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Four plugins in this list have free versions on WordPress.org: Simple Points and Rewards, WPLoyalty, WP Swings and RewardsWP.

Does WooCommerce Points and Rewards have a referral program?

No. It gives points for purchases, account sign-ups and product reviews only. To reward referrals you need a points plugin that includes them, or a separate referral plugin running alongside it. Our sister site compares the best WooCommerce referral plugins if you’d like to keep the official extension and add referrals separately.

Will customers lose their points if I switch?

Not if you import them before removing the official extension. A new plugin can’t see the old balances on its own, so every customer starts at zero until the import runs. Check a few accounts by hand afterwards, and only then deactivate the extension.

Which alternatives can import points from WooCommerce Points and Rewards?

Three plugins here can read its points directly: Simple Points and Rewards (in the free version), the Advanced Coupons Loyalty Program, and WPLoyalty with its Migration add-on. YITH, WP Swings, SUMO and RewardsWP can import points from a CSV file, but you’d need the official extension’s paid Exporter add-on, or a developer, to create that file.

Can guest customers earn points?

Not with the official extension, which needs a customer account. In Simple Points and Rewards, guest points tracking is a PRO feature: points from a guest order are added to the customer’s balance once they create an account. Check the other plugins’ documentation if guest checkout is common in your store.

Should I stay with the official extension?

Stay if you only need points for purchases, sign-ups and reviews, spent as a discount. It’s maintained by the WooCommerce team and has earning rates by product and category built in. Switch when you need referrals, other kinds of reward, or a lower yearly cost.

Which WooCommerce Points and Rewards alternative should you pick?

Start with the thing the official extension can’t do for you. For referrals without paying, Simple Points and Rewards and RewardsWP both include them in their free versions. If you want points to become store credit, the Advanced Coupons Loyalty Program does that and can import your balances. WPLoyalty suits stores that want campaign rules with a supported importer, and YITH suits stores that want levels and badges. SUMO costs the least over a few years.

We’d point most stores to Simple Points and Rewards, mainly for the free referral system and the free importer. We’re biased, though, and it’s much newer than most plugins here. Test the import on a staging site before you switch the live store.
