Cookies Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on relywp.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Some are session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies, which stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

We also use technologies that work in a similar way, including local storage, which lets a site remember a setting in your browser, and tracking pixels, which are tiny image files that tell us whether a page was loaded or an email was opened. Where this policy says “cookies”, it means all of these.

A cookie set by relywp.com is called a first-party cookie. A cookie set by another company whose service we use on the site, such as an analytics provider, is called a third-party cookie.

The cookies we use

Rather than list every individual cookie, which changes as we update the site, we group them into four categories. Your choices are recorded against these categories.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the site to work, and cannot be switched off in our systems. They do things like keeping you signed in to your account, applying your cookie preferences on later visits, protecting our forms from spam and bots through Cloudflare Turnstile, and balancing traffic across our servers through Cloudflare.

We do not need your consent for these, because the site cannot be provided without them. If you block them in your browser, parts of the site will not work.

Functional

These cookies let the site remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. Examples include remembering that you have dismissed a notice, keeping your place in our documentation, and running the support assistant and live chat on our contact page, which is provided by Help Scout.

If you block these, the site will still work, but some conveniences will be lost and you may be asked the same thing more than once.

Analytics

These cookies help us understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, how they arrived, how long they stay, and where they run into trouble. We use this to fix problems and decide what to improve. This category includes Google Analytics.

The information is used in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Marketing and advertising

These cookies are set by us and by our advertising partners to measure whether our advertising works, to avoid showing you the same advert repeatedly, and to show you relevant adverts on other sites. They may be used to build a profile of your interests.

We only set these if you agree to them.

Affiliate referral cookies

If you arrive on our site through an affiliate’s referral link, a cookie is set so that the affiliate can be credited if you go on to buy. It records which affiliate referred you and when, and it lasts 30 days. It does not record anything about you personally beyond that. Our Affiliate Program Terms explain how referral tracking works.

Cookies our plugins set on your site

This policy covers relywp.com. It does not cover cookies set on your own website by a RelyWP plugin you have installed.

Some of our plugins do set cookies on the sites they are installed on, for example to remember an affiliate referral or to keep a guest visitor’s wishlist between visits. Where a plugin does this, the cookies it sets, what they are for and how long they last are documented on that plugin’s documentation page. If you run one of our plugins, you are the controller for those cookies on your own site, and you should reflect them in your own cookie notice.

How to control cookies

Where we use analytics or advertising cookies, we ask for your consent before setting them, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie settings control on our site. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site cannot be provided without them.

You can also control cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, block them from particular sites, or block them all. Blocking all cookies will stop parts of our site working. Instructions for the common browsers:

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on. Browser settings such as Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are also respected where our providers support them.

For more general information about cookies and how to manage them, see allaboutcookies.org and youronlinechoices.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as we add or remove services from the site. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
